A unique moment for modern Greek culture! Last night, the legendary Agnes Baltsa was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2025 International Opera Awards. At the majestic International Opera Awards Ceremony, the acclaimed Greek mezzo-soprano received her award from Giorgos Koumendakis, the Artistic Director of the Greek National Opera, amidst a rousing standing ovation in the packed Stavros Niarchos Hall. The International Opera Awards Ceremony was held in Greece for the first time, hosted by the Greek National Opera, thanks to a grant from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (ISN) to enhance the GNO’s artistic outreach.“Dear Mrs Baltsa, this award is merely a humble expression of our love and appreciation for your immense talent and your unprecedentedly magnificent international career”, noted Mr Koumendakis.
